Paolo Mastroguiseppe

South African-born Paolo Mastroguiseppe has a long Italian lineage, so its no wonder two of his passions are espresso and exotic motorsports. After enrolling, Paolo studied at the Johannesburg University of Technology and took a three-year course at the Academy of Design and Writing. Upon completing his diploma, he worked with his father, a precision engineer, manufacturing submersible pumps and other components related to the motor industry. His entrepreneurial spirit saw him start his own business at the age of 21 and he currently operates three factories that produce safety critical components such as drums, wheel hubs and steering knuckles. In 2011, Paolo had an idea to assemble an espresso machine inspired by a Formula One engine. The research, development and prototyping took approximately six months. Each of the 72 machined components is manufactured and installed at his factory in Wadeville, with various components sourced from overseas, mostly Europe. The machines are then assembled by hand. “The SuperVeloce masterpieces are always hand-built in limited numbers in state-of-the-art facilities, paying homage to the worlds aerospace designers and engineers and automotive enthusiasts. ‘SuperVeloce’ is the last word in art and function. ”- Paolo Mastrogiuseppe
