Jeremy Brown
Born in South Africa, Jeremy Brown is an abstract mixed media artist who has gained popularity in recent years. Brown creates art as a way of expressing himself and a form of meditation. When he was 16 years old, he began creating art by duplicating a Rothko painting. He found inspiration from Basquiat and the unconventionality of his works. Then inspired by the French artist Yves Klein of the 1960s and various performance pieces by Andy Warhol, Brown has been doing abstract paintings for more than a decade. "Every day we have the option to look at our past and rebuild it to make a brighter future." Through abundant layers and textures, Jeremy Browns art embodies the idea of love throughout his body of work. Part of Browns aesthetic stems from complex nature, he uses unconventional materials like sprays and concrete. He enjoys abstract art, fine lines, bright colors, and elaborate finishes. All of Browns pieces are held together by a great concern for humanity and compassion. "When you seek happiness and peace, love is where you will find it. Love is the absence of hate. Love is my religion" - J. Brown. These pieces are layers of colors, texts and thoughts that encapsulate the essence of Jeremy Browns artistic and emotional acts of creation. Love, compassion, desire, acceptance, peace, art and harmony play a role within the works.
